About Delmar Loop
The Delmar Loop in St. Louis is an eclectic six block shopping and entertainment district that was named "one of the ten best streets in America" by the American Planning Association in 2007. Live music can be enjoyed any night of the week at one of the many cafes, restaurants, or nightclubs. The St. Louis Walk of Fame honors famous St. Louis musicians Chuck Berry and Miles Davis, among other famous St. Louisians. The Loop also offers a variety of art galleries, outdoor cafes, an upscale bowling alley and martini bar and a historic cinema house that runs independent films. With numerous independently owned boutiques and specialty shops, anything from handmade clothes and comic books, to distinctive furniture and a smoke shop are available. Everyone's tastes will be satisfied with restaurant choices that include Lebanese, Vietnamese, and Thai cuisine, Chinese noodles, breakfast, ice cream shops, coffee shops, sandwich shops, the usual chain restaurants, and many more choices. The Delmar Loop hosts annual events such as the Loop in Motion, a visual and performing arts festival in October and the Ice Carnival in January, featuring ice sculptors and their sculptures. All year round, the Loop offers exciting and unique entertainment, whether it's browsing the distinct shops, dining on international cuisine, or appreciating live music. There are very few hotels near Delmar Loop. For some good places to stay, you might want to consider nearby Clayton or Downtown St Louis and take the Metro or other transportation.
